Raglan Pullover in Phentex Dynasty Yarn

26 inch finished chest
Gauge: 3.5 sc and 3 rows equal 1 inch on 5.5 mm hook
Use 4.5 mm hook for ribbing
Stitch: Back Loop Single Crochet, place marker at end of row.

SLEEVES:
With 4.5 mm hook, chain 7, work 6 sc for 22 rows (11 ribs) of back loop only sc.
(Work the first row into the back ridge of the starting chain -it is much neater)
Slip Stitch ends together - use back loop of last row and both loops of Starting Chain.
Chain 1, Turn sidewise.

Change to 5.5 mm hook
Row 1: Work 1 sc in end of each row of ribbing and work 6 extra sc into row.[place 6 markers evenly spaced]
([sc in end of first 2 rows, 2 sc in next row] 6x, sc in each of last 4 rows. (28 sc),
place marker at end of row.
Work a total of 26 rows. Increase 1 sc at beginning and end of every odd numbered row.
LAST ROW: Work to 4th sc from the end and stop. DO NOT FASTEN OFF.
Leave long tail for joining. (52 sc)

BODY:
With 4.5 mm hook chain 7, work 6 sc for 86 rows (43 ribs) of back loop only sc.
(Work the first row into the back ridge of the starting chain -it is much neater)
Slip Stitch ends together - use back loop of last row and both loops of Starting Chain.
Chain 1, Turn sidewise.

Change to 5.5 mm hook
Row 1: Work 1 sc in end of each row of ribbing and work 6 extra sc into row.
(A quick way to mark where the extra stitches go is to place 6 markers
equally spaced around the ribbing. Just add an extra sc at each marker) (92 STS)

Work even for a total of 23 rows. Do Not Finish Off.

YOKE: Starts with 172 stitches counting body and sleeves.
Place markers in the 20th, 27th 66th and 73rd stitch from the start of the row. .
Attach first sleeve starting in the 26th st and slip stitch it to the body row between the first 2 markers. .
Insert hook under the front loops of body stitches and back loops of sleeve stitches. .
Attach second sleeve between the second set of markers in like manner. .
Leave a long tail at the end of the 6 slip stitches to weave in later.

Two new terms for this sweater:.
1.   Seam Stitch:Worked in pairs in the following manner:

1. Work one sc through both loops of the next stitch.
2. Work one sc through both loops of the next stitch.

The Seam Stitch gives the appearance of the raglan seam

2.   Seam Decrease Stitch: Worked over the next 4 stitches in the following manner:

1. Sc2tog as follows: Back Loop Only Sc, Both Loop Sc.
2. Sc2tog as follows: Both Loop Sc, Back loop Only Sc.

The Seam Decrease stitch also gives the appearance of the raglan seam.

Instructions for the Yoke:
Row 1: SC in the first 19 stitches. Work Seam Stitch in next stitch.
(Place marker in this seam stitch), work second Seam Stitch
Note that these Seam Stitches are in the LAST stitch of the back and
the First stitch of the left sleeve.
SC around the sleeve to the next-to-last stitch of the sleeve.
Work Seam Stitch in next stitch (Place marker in this stitch.
It is the last stitch of the left sleeve).
Work second Seam Stitch (first stitch of the front).
SC in the next 38 stitches of the front.
Work Seam Stitch in next stitch -last stitch of the front.
(Place marker in this seam stitch), work second Seam Stitch -first stitch of the right sleeve.
Sc around the sleeve to the next-to-last stitch of the sleeve
Work Seam Stitch in the next stitch (Place marker in this stitch).
Work second Seam Stitch in next stitch (first stitch of the back).
SC to end of row which will be in the middle of the back.

Row 2 and 3: **Work to stitch before marker, remove marker and work Seam Stitch,
replace marker in the Seam Stitch, work second Seam Stitch.**
Repeat from ** to ** three more times. Sc to end of row.

## Row 4 and 5: **Work to 2 stitches before marker, remove marker and work Seam Decrease Stitch #1
(Sc2Tog-back loop, both loops), replace marker in the Seam Decrease Stitch,
work Seam Decrease Stitch #2 (Sc2Tog-both loops, back loop). **
Work from ** to ** three more times. Sc to end of row.

Row 6: Work one row using the Seam Stitch at the markers. -See Row 2.##

Repeat from ## to ## 4 more times. (Rows 7,8,9; 10,11,12; 13,14,15; 16,17,18;)

Rows 19, 20 21: Repeat Row 2 (using the seam Stitch at the markers)

Row 22: Use the Seam Stitch on the Body and the Seam Decrease Stitch on the sleeves.

Row 23: Use the Seam Decrease Stitch 1 and 2 at the markers. Work to end of row.
Slip Stitch in next stitch.

Ribbing:
Change to 4.5 mm hook.
Chain 5 and work 4 BLOsc in ribbing around neck. Slip stitch ends of ribbing together.

Finishing:
Sew loose ends in.
Using the long ends left from attaching the sleeves
-close the hole left at one end of the sleeve attachment slip stitches.

The finished sweater can be turned inside out and the fabric also looks good.
