With 4.5 mm hook, chain 7, work 6 sc for 22 rows (11 ribs) of back
loop only sc.
(Work the first row into the back ridge of the starting chain -it
is much neater)
Slip Stitch ends together - use back loop of last row and both
loops of Starting Chain.
Chain 1, Turn sidewise.
Change to 5.5 mm hook
Row 1: Work 1 sc in end of each row of ribbing and work 6 extra sc
into row.[place 6 markers evenly spaced]

BODY:

Chain 1, Turn sidewise.
Change to 5.5 mm hook
Row 1: Work 1 sc in end of each row of ribbing and work 6 extra sc

(A quick way to mark where the extra stitches go is to place 6
markers
equally spaced around the ribbing. Just add an extra sc at each

Work even for a total of 23 rows. Do Not Finish Off.
YOKE: Starts with 172 stitches counting body and
sleeves.
Place markers in the 20th, 27th 66th and 73rd stitch from the start
of the row. .
Attach first sleeve starting in the 26th st and slip stitch it to
the body row between the first 2 markers. .
Insert hook under the front loops of body stitches and back loops
of sleeve stitches. .
Attach second sleeve between the second set of markers in like
manner. .
Leave a long tail at the end of the 6 slip stitches to weave in
later.

SC around the sleeve to the next-to-last stitch of the
sleeve.

Work second Seam Stitch (first stitch of the front).
SC in the next 38 stitches of the front.
Work Seam Stitch in next stitch -last stitch of the front.

Sc around the sleeve to the next-to-last stitch of the sleeve
Work Seam Stitch in the next stitch (Place marker in this

Row 23: Use the Seam Decrease Stitch 1 and 2 at the markers.
Work to end of row.
Slip Stitch in next stitch.
Ribbing:
Change to 4.5 mm hook.
Chain 5 and work 4 BLOsc in ribbing around neck. Slip stitch ends
of ribbing together.
Finishing:
Sew loose ends in.
Using the long ends left from attaching the sleeves
-close the hole left at one end of the sleeve attachment slip
stitches.
The finished sweater can be turned inside out and the fabric also looks good.
