11 inch hat (chain 25):
Repeat rows (3 - 10) 4 times more, and rows (3 - 8) once more. Do
not finish off.
12 inch hat (chain27):
Repeat rows (3 - 10) 5 times more, and rows (3 - 8) once more. Do
not finish off.
13 inch hat (chain 29):
Repeat rows (3 - 10) 6 times more, and rows (3 - 8) once more. Do
not finish off.
Joining:
Fasten off.
Weave doubled yarn through end of rows at top, tie tightly,
secure ends.
Pompom may be added.
Turn up last 6 single crochet for brim.
The folding row prevents the brim from falling over the child's
eyes.
The brim or cuff is done in Back Loop Only SC for 6 sc on the
pattern (9 sc in the picture), one Front Loop Only SC, then
continue in Back Loop Only SC.
The Front Loop SC is the turning row.
Instructions:
With color A, ch 35.
Fold piece with the last row worked facing you and the chain row
at the back.
Sl st tog by picking up the front loop and then the chain
loop.
Sl st to end.
Cut a length (8") to draw top together.
Work drawstring through the top tightly.
Fasten. Cut ends.
Turn cap inside out.
Conceal yarn ends.
Complete with a pompom.
