Ribbed hat

• Row 1: Sc in 2nd chain and each chain across.
  Chain 1, Turn.
  All SC will be in Back Loop Only for rest of pattern.
• Row 2: SC in each of first 36 sc. Chain 1, Turn.
  Leave last 4 sc unworked.
• Row 3: Sc in each sc. Chain 1, Turn.
• Row 4: Sc in each sc of row 3 and last 4 sc of row 2.
  Chain 1, Turn.

Repeat Rows 1 - 4 until width is 16 inches. End with Row 4.
Fasten Off leaving a 40 inch tail for sewing back seam.

Finishing:
Working through both thicknesses of fabric sew free loops
of starting row to both loops of last row.

Take a 24 inch length of yarn, double it.
Weave it through the ends of the rows at the top of the hat.
Tie ends tightly to close end of hat.

Weave in all loose ends.

Chain 211.
Makes a scarf approximately 40 inches long.

• Row 1: SC in second chain from hook and each chain across.
  Chain 1, turn.

  Work rest of rows in Back Loop Only Single Crochet-

• Row 2: SC in each SC across. Chain 1, Turn.

Repeat Row 2 for desired width.
Fasten Off.
Weave in loose ends.
Add fringe if desired.
