Done in 28 stitch or thinner yarn with a 2.25 mm hook or smaller
to give it some firmness,
this flower and the leaf below make a nice decoration for a baby
jacket.
Ch 9
3 dc in 3rd ch from hook, and each of next 3 ch
2 trc in each of next 2 ch
2 dc in next chain
Fasten off. Leave 8 inch end for sewing
Roll beg 2-sk ch end over sts to form flower
With needle and yarn end, tack thru base to secure
Leave ends long to secure flower to leaf base.
Instructions for single leaf
R1: Ch 4, 11 dc in 4th ch from hook. Join with sl st to top of beg
ch.
R2: Ch 1, sc in same st
LEAF: ch 8 loosely

Work to center of row 1
1 sc in each of next 3 sts

2-tr cluster in last st.

This is really half of the leaf but makes a nice table
decoration.
For a full leaf, work row 1 in to the unused loops of the start
chain.
[Be sure to start at the tip of the leaf instead at the start of
the chain.]
Work Row 2 on top of Row 1.

Since it took me 1 1/2 hours to make,
I decided not to make the thread version.

Row 1: Ch 2, 5 sc in 2nd chain. Join with slip stitch to first
sc.
Row 2: **Ch 5, sc in 3rd ch, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, ss in
next sc in row 1.
Repeat from ** 3 more times.
Ch 5, sc in 3rd ch, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, ss in joining
ss.
Leave 18 inch tail for sewing.
